Refunding a Deposit or Payment on an Open Sale
If a deposit was collected for an appointment, you may need to refund the deposit if:
The appointment was canceled.
A membership, package, or discount applied during checkout resulted in a negative remaining balance.
When refunding deposits or payments on open sales, you can:
Refund to the original payment method.
Refund to the client’s account balance. This allows you to apply the deposit to another appointment or sale.

To refund a deposit or payment on an open sale, open the Sales app and select the open sale.
Select Refund from the "..." menu next to the payment.

Specify whether to refund the payment to the original payment method or to the client's account balance.

Select Refund to complete the refund. The original payment will appear in your reports on the original payment date. The refund will appear in your reports on the date the refund was completed.

If there is no remaining total on the sale, select Complete to close the sale. The status of the sale will change to Closed (Refunded).
If there is a remaining total on the sale, but the sale is no longer needed, select the back arrow and select Void from the "..." menu to void the sale.
