About the program

The salon and spa community is at the heart of everything Mangomint is, does, and will be. Back in 2024 we launched Do Something Beautiful, a grant program that awarded an Oakland-based hair salon $20,000 to help fund their new sustainable product line. They've donated 100% of the profits earned from product sales to Urban Compassion Project.

This year, we're reinventing the program to celebrate smaller, everyday moments happening across the industry to make its communities more beautiful.

How it works

Submit the form with all the beauty business details. If your nominee is selected, we'll reach out with next steps. We may ask for an optional feature on our website or social channels.

  • Who can be nominated for Do Something Beautiful?

    Anyone (or any business) in the beauty and wellness world doing meaningful work — salons, spas, barbershops, tattoo artists, wellness pros. You can nominate yourself or someone you know in the industry, and you don't need to be a Mangomint customer.

  • Can I nominate more than one person or business for Do Something Beautiful?

    Yes! Just submit a separate form for each nominee so we give each one a proper look. You can find the form on this page!

  • What do you mean by meaningful work?

    Do Something Beautiful is all about celebrating how the beauty industry shows up for their community. Some examples of meaningful work include: helping a beauty business or pro get back on their feet, offering beauty services to local populations in need, creating access to education in the beauty industry, and even supporting random acts of kindness.

  • What kind of support does Mangomint offer?

    Two types, depending on what helps most: financial support (small grants or sponsorships) and recognition (spotlighting their story across our channels and partner networks).

    We’ll ask for your input on how we can best support the initiative.

  • Will you share my nominee’s story publicly?

    We might publish stories to our website or social platforms, but only with the nominee's permission. We always confirm directly with the nominee before publishing anything.

  • What happens after I submit a nomination?

    Our team reviews every submission. If your nomination is a fit, we’ll reach out to you (or the nominee) directly. We can't respond to everyone individually, but every story gets read.

  • Is there a submission deadline for Do Something Beautiful?

    Nope! Do Something Beautiful runs year-round, so nominations are always open.
