# FAQ: Transferring Phone Numbers

  No, once you port your number to Mangomint, it will be used for texting **and** phone calls. You will no longer be able to use your previous carrier for texting or phone calls.

  While we can generally port numbers from any carrier, if you have any questions about whether your specific number can be ported to Mangomint, please reach out to chat support. We can check your number for you and confirm whether it can be ported to Mangomint.

  When porting your number to Mangomint, the process will take several business days, and it can vary depending on which carrier you are transferring from. The porting process will take a minimum of seven business days to complete.
