  If you enable taxes on products, the tax rate is pulled from the rate set in **Apps > Settings > Business Setup > Locations**.

  To enable/disable tax on a product, use the **Charge tax** toggle.

  Yes, you can [set different commission rates](/learn/service-and-product-commission/#product-commission) for specific products and product categories per staff member.

  ###### How do I hide backbar/professional-use items during checkout?

  When [creating or editing a product category](/learn/manage-categories-and-add-products/), the **Non-retail products** toggle allows you to track your backbar/professional-use items. If this toggle is enabled, the products in this category will not be available during checkout unless the staff member has the [Can sell non-retail products](/learn/staff-member-permissions/) permission enabled in **Staff Member** settings.
