# Client Details

You can view a client's details by selecting the client's name from an appointment, a sale, the **Inbox** app, or the **Clients** app, as shown below.

When viewing a client's details, you can select the pencil icon to add or update the client details outlined below (in addition to the client's name, phone number, and email address).

Add the client's profile image. If no image is added, the platform will use the client's initials on a color background.

If [client ownership](/learn/advanced-settings-client-ownership/) is enabled, you can select the staff member who owns the client from the **Owner** dropdown.

Add the client's social media information.

Keep track of additional client details, including:

- Gender

- Pronouns

- Birthday

- Alternative phone number

- Referral source. Separate multiple referral sources using a comma or a space. Referral sources allow you to filter the [client list](/learn/navigating-the-client-list/), and they allow you to send [campaigns](/learn/client-filters-for-campaigns/) and [flow messages](/learn/client-filters-for-automated-flows/) to clients who were referred by a specific source.

- Tag. Separate multiple tags using a comma or a space. Tags allow you to filter the [client list](/learn/navigating-the-client-list/), and they allow you to send [campaigns](/learn/client-filters-for-campaigns/) and [flow messages](/learn/client-filters-for-automated-flows/) to clients with specific tags.

Add the client's home or mailing address.

Enable or disable appointment-related messages and marketing messages for the client.

- **Marketing messages&#x20;**&#x69;nclude [campaigns](/learn/help-articles/campaigns/) and [marketing flow messages](/learn/flow-message-types/).

Clients whose appointment-related messages are disabled will still be notified at the time of booking if they book online.
